Position Summary:
F.N. Smith Corporation is seeking an individual who is a highly motivated, critical thinker to be part of our team. As a Maintenance Technician your responsibilities include maintenance and continual improvement of in-house equipment and facilities. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment used in a machine shop setting. The position requires performing work that involves hydraulics, pneumatics, electricity, general mechanics as well as some welding.
Essential Job Functions:
Proficient in the facilities and maintenance technician duties and responsibilities
Perform preventive maintenance and repair work on production machines
Perform mechanic functions including but not limited to mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic repairs of production machines
Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
Perform general facilities maintenance
Ensures proper performance and maintenance of all electrical, mechanical and plumbing systems within the building to ensure efficient operation
Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed
Education / Experience:
High School Diploma or G.E.D minimum
Completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience preferred.
3+ years of manufacturing maintenance experience; strong mechanical, pneumatic, fabrication, and industrial skills preferred.
Strong troubleshooting and organizational skills with an acute attention to detail
Strong critical thinking skills, must work cooperatively within company
Ability to operate forklift and other man lift equipment as needed is required
Perform assigned duties in a safe manner and environment while adhering to all governmental regulations for this industry
Must be results driven, self-motivated with excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a wide range of software programs that support our business (MS Office Suite, CAD/ CAM Packages, ERP and CRM systems, etc.)
