About

Lost Lake is a country style community, located in northwest Illinois, surrounding a stocked 80+ acre man-made lake.   Nestled around this beautiful habitat are acres of gently rolling, wooded hills.  Over 700 property owners currently make this community their permanent or weekend home.  Local residents enjoy sports such as fishing, golf, sledding hill, tennis and snowmobile riding.  The air is pristine and noise pollution is virtually non-existent.  Only the varied sounds of nature seem to permeate the area.  Lost Lake is roughly equidistant from the Illinois cities of Dixon, Franklin Grove and Oregon.

From its humble beginnings, Lost Lake has steadily matured over the past few decades.  Many individuals, including the Association's Board of Directors, work hard to keep Lost Lake a quiet, affordable, respectable and attractive place to live, raise a family and/or retire.  Lost Nation Golf Club is a nearby challenging and well-maintained 18-hole course, as are other public and private courses.  Park facilities offer fun for the kids.  The lake, tennis court, Lake Court Center, beaches, dam, and the campground are all managed by the River Conservancy District (RCD).  Schools and churches are all extremely accessible.
